079B Societies Welcome At Gowran Park H'capR.P. Whelan, rider of Red Veil, trained by Adrian Sexton, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.
Siobhan Rutledge, rider of Carrickfinn (GB), trained by Shane Gallagher, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount hung right throughout.
079C Irish Injured Jockeys (Fillies) M'dnThe Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the straight involving Feel The Love, ridden by C.D. Hayes, and Johanna Walsh, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, where it appeared contact was made when Johanna Walsh manoeuvred out as Feel The Love was fading. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
079D Gowran Park Racing Club (C&G) M'dnJ.J.G. Ryan, rider of Rebel Ascendant (GB), trained by Jack W. Davison, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran green and hung left in the straight.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed the whip use of J.M. Sheridan on Casamorati where he used the whip down the shoulder in the forehand position on a number of occasions. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied the J.M. Sheridan's whip use was for corrective purposes as his mount was hanging badly left.
079E Thomastown M'dnThe Raceday Stewards granted P.O'Rourke an additional ten minutes to present Purple Moon for identification by an IHRB Official as per the provisions of Rule 90(i).
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Take Me, trained by Noel Meade, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be coughing post race.
J.S. Dalton, rider of Purple Moon, trained by P.O'Rourke, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.
P. McGettigan, rider of Tommy Go Maith, trained by Thomas Patrick McGettigan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped very quickly.
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from P. O'Rourke, trainer, following the winning performance of Purple Moon in this race, which appeared to represent an improvement on its only previous run. P. O'Rourke said he didn't get any cover on his last run at the Curragh and as such his race was run after two furlongs. Having liaised with the IHRB Handicapper, the Raceday Stewards considered the report and noted the explanation offered.
079F Racing Again April 22nd H'capThe Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Ethelwulf (GB), ridden by J.M. Sheridan, and Khormor Syd, ridden by W.J. Lee where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.M. Sheridan said he didn't receive any interference. W.J. Lee said he made his manoeuvre and felt he was clear of Ethelwulf. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Gillian Scott, trainer, following the winning performance of Starting Monday in this race, which appeared to represent an improvement on its previous run. Gillian Scott said the better ground and the better draw is what she attributes the improved performance to. Having liaised with the IHRB Handicapper, the Raceday Stewards considered the report and noted the explanation offered.
079G Gowranpark.ie H'capThe Raceday Stewards interviewed Pat McGuinness, representative for Gavin Cromwell, trainer of Robbies Rock (GB), regarding the late arrival of the horse into the Parade Ring which contributed to a delay to the off time of the race. Evidence was heard from the Pat McGuiness who stated they had issues applying the tongue strap which resulted in the delay. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given. However, as Pat McGuinness was not an authorised representative they fined Gavin Cromwell €130 in accordance with Rule 147(v).
